FAQs

What is henna made of?

Henna is made from the leaves of the henna plant, scientifically known as Lawsonia inermis. The leaves are dried and ground into a fine powder, which is then mixed with a liquid, often water, lemon juice, or tea, to create a paste. This paste is applied to the skin to create intricate designs.

The active compound in henna, lawsone, binds to the keratin in the skin, resulting in a reddish-brown stain that can last for several days to weeks, depending on various factors like skin type and aftercare. Organic henna products ensure that no harmful chemicals are added, making it a safe choice for body art.
